Reserve Police Officers

The Mitchell Police Department utilizes Reserve police officers to assist the regular members of the department.  These are very special people who are willing to donate their time and assist the regular members of the department in their duties.  They may be called upon to assist in times of need such as special events or disasters or to just assist in everyday tasks.  We have developed a program that we feel enables anyone willing to assist to do so.  We have regular reserves who do much the same duties as regular police officers and we have administrative reserves as well.  Administrative reserves have little or no training requirements but also have no police powers.  They would be people willing to come in an help with administrative tasks or in an emergency to do things such as help answer the phone or provide other non police support.  You could be someone with expertise in an an area such as hazardous materials or explosives who would be willing to provide your expertise in time of need.  If you are willing and have the desire feel free to contact us to discuss how you can assist us. Reserves are required to submit a Reserve Application due to the nature of the job.
